No cash transfer

Unfortunately, the UBA Freedom account doesn’t support cash transfers, this means you can’t request or do a transfer from the Freedom Dom account to other accounts. You will need to manually withdraw the foreign currency from the UBA bank and go to the bank you want to deposit the money to do a deposit,

ATM cards are not supported

The UBA Freedom savings account does not support the use of ATM cards. You can’t also request an ATM card (Prepaid or debit). The Freedom account is only made to receive the fund and withdraw from the counter.

Upgrade will be needed after the user exceed the debit limit of ($2000)

If you want to open a zero account like the one I am using you will need to upgrade the account after exceeding the standard debit limit of $2000 on your freedom account.

  1. Hi
Loved your post by the way, but you said something that I can’t seem to understand, you mean if you open a domiciliary account in Nigeria you won’t be given an ATM card or you will be given but won’t be able to use it for withdrawal because I wanna open a domiciliary account for my online business and to withdraw I need to insert my credit/debit card details so I don’t understand, please explain better

  2. Hi Stella,
UBA Freedom Account is quite different from UBA Domiciliary account, but they both support Foreign currencies like USD and Euro. The UBA Domiciliary account is an upgraded account. As it has more service attached to it, like enabling the ATM card option.
Also, Like I said, in the freedom account you wont need much documents to open it while the UBA Domiciliary account will require more documents, like filling the reference Form etc.

You will need to upgrade the Uba freedom account If you need an ATM card. The ATM card can be used on a dollar dispensable ATM machine or can be used to carry out foreign transactions online.

If you want to go for a dom account for your business go for the UBA Domiciliary account and not freedom account, (but you will need to provide more documents and also two referee that are using current account or a Dom account)
