Qubo p6 review

qubo p6 price in nigeria

My eyes have been around the Qubo brand for the last three months, recently opted for the Qubo p6. The Qubo p6 is a mid-range smartphone that was manufactured in China and was released in late 2020.

Qubo is known for its cheap smartphone. The selling point of the Qubo p6 is its large 4500 mah battery. The Qubo p6 was initially sold for 22,000 Nigerian nairas on Jumia, but due to the high rate of demand, the price inflated to 25,000 Nigerian naira. Below are Qubo p6 specifications and price.

Qubo key features

  • 4500mah inbuilt battery
  • 16GB ROM and 1GB ram (sd card limit 32GB)
  • 5.45″ HD + in-cell IPS resolution multi touch screen
  • Android 9.0 Pie (Go edition) with GAPPS (google applications) pre-installed
  • Quad 1.3 GHz MTK processor
  • Rear Fingerprint sensor
  • 8mp F2.2, rear camera with flashlight and 5mp F2.2, front camera with flashlight also
  • Slim 8.9mm thickness design

Design and display

The Qubo p6 is made with a plastic material that looks stronger than that of the olla m8 and m8 plus. On the front top right of Qubo p6 are its sensor and 5mp front-facing camera and, on the top left side is its flashlight used for taking selfies in the night.

Qubo p6 Beautiful back cover

The Qubo p6 comes with 720 x 1400 resolution, 5.45 inch HD + in-cell display that produces a clear display unlike that of Itel A56 pro which has a lower resolution. I also compared it with the olla m8 plus, its display is better than olla m8 plus when it comes to displaying. At the top middle of the smartphone is its earpiece for receiving phone calls.

Qubo p6 USB port and headphone jack

At the top of the Qubo p6 are its USB port and headphone jack, while at the back of this smartphone is the 8mp camera, flashlight, loudspeaker, and fingerprint sensor. The back plastic material of the Qubo p6 looks like that of the Infinix Zero 8, but the zero 8 looks clearer when it comes to reflection than that of the Qubo p6.

Camera

when it comes to the camera, the Qubo p6 might not be the best, its picture looks lovely than that of the olla m8, as it has beatification and sharpening features when taking photos.

The Qubo p6 comes with a 5mp front camera I will rate 2.5 over 5, and an 8mp camera that looks like a 13mp camera when pictures are taking. The front and back camera comes with a flashlight used in taking photos at night. The back 8mp flash hardly catches clear photos at night. The front 5mp camera looks better when taking pictures at night due to its closeness.

Hardware and software

The Qubo p6 comes with a quad-core 1.3GHZ MTK cortex- A7 processor. Assisted with a Mali T820 MP1 for gaming and a 3D image processor, mind you the Qubo p6 is not a gaming smartphone. The Qubo p6 comes with 16GB ROM and 1GB RAM, which is low but with the help of ( Go edition). Expect things to run smoothly. You can increase your phone storage to a maximum of 32GB using an SD card.

Battery and Network

The Qubo p6 comes with an impressive 4500mah large battery that can take you almost a day on minimum usage. According to Qubo, the Qubo p6 is well optimized with an HW platform and intelligent power saving system that provides a longer standby time than other smartphones.

Qubo p6 inbuilt battery

The inbuilt battery is a polymer battery that was built with better material also safe and durable. Qubo p6 has a fast charging function that is 1.5 times the normal charging speed. I ran a test on it, from 1% to 100% took almost 3 hours, not too impressive. Talking about the network aspect the Qubo p6 comes with a 2g (GSM850/900/1800/1900) and 3g service (WCDMA 900/2100) two sims support, sadly, 4g is not supported.

What is inside the box

  • A headphone
  • A charger and USB cord
  • Qubo p6
  • A manual
  • A warranty card

What I love about the Qubo p6

Large and lightweight: The Qubo p6 has a large battery and also slim, handy, and light, that makes it so portable.

Clear camera: Although the 8mp rear camera looks small, I bet you it looks nice than most smartphones with that pixel range. A single picture can go as high as 6MB. I hardly get 4MB from my olla m8 with the same 8mp camera.

Beautiful display: The Qubo p6 comes with a 5.45 inch HD display and a 720 x 1400 pixel resolution that looks lovely for its size.

What I don’t like about the Qubo p6

Low ram: Although the Qubo p6 runs on the android GO version that is made for phones with low rams, The Qubo p6 is likely to slow down or delete multitasked apps if you run many apps at a time.

I ran a test, I was installing three apps simultaneously it freezes for some while. I know most phone does this, but I wanted to know how long it will take to recover. It took about 30 sec before I could do something else with it. This is due to the installation process running in the background. Apart from this, the Qubo p6 is smooth.
